Proposal Assistance from PRI Cores
The Administrative Core can provide assistance in preparing the supporting agency-required materials, especially if the basic information about your proposal is available to them well in advance of the submission deadline. Principal investigators preparing a proposal tend to worry most about the substantive content and leave the details of the supporting documentation until last (i.e., biosketches or vitae, budgets, other grant support lists). The early preparation of supporting documentation leaves the administrative core staff free to assist with last-minute aspects of preparing your proposal (formatting, page numbering, table of contents).
The Information Core, contacted early in the proposal preparation process, can assist with
literature searches, document retrieval, identifying and accessing
datasets, and obtaining cost estimates for purchasing data and
documentation to include in the budget for your proposed project.
Citation verification is available in the final stages of proposal
preparation. Contact Tara Murray
The Computer Core can offer important advice about the amount and type of computer programmer support the project would need, and can identify any equipment or supplies that could be crucial to the completion of your project. Contact Joe Broniszewski (3-2685) for assistance on equipment and supplies, and Jeanne Spicer (3-8321) for programming assistance.
The Geographic Information Analysis Core can offer important advice about the amount and type of computer programmer support the project would need, and can identify any equipment or supplies that could be crucial to the completion of your project. Contact Stephen Matthews (3-9721) for assistance.
The Survey Research Center (SRC) provides the following services: survey design, sampling, and data collection (including telephone, mail, face-to-face, internet surveys and focus groups); survey data management; and data analysis. These services are provided on a fee-for-service basis. Center staff are also available to assist researchers in estimating the costs associated with the collection and analysis of survey data. Contact Kurt Johnson (867-1290) for assistance.
Please remember: Yours is probably not the only proposal being submitted for a particular deadline.
Be considerate to other investigators, staff, deans, and department heads by allowing sufficient time for review, discussion, input, preparation, and mailing of your proposal.
