Duane Alwin has been appointed to a three year term to the editorial board of Public Opinion Quarterly, effective March, 2005.
Mark Hayward was appointed to the Steering Committee, Tobacco Related Health Disparities Research Network supported by the National Cancer Institute. He also was appointed to the Advisory Board for an NIA-supported P01 project on the "Genetics of Aging" (Michal Jazwinsky, PI, Louisiana State University Medical Center).

The first paper (with Ryan McCammon) is titled "Survey Question Length and the Reliability of Measurement"5, 2005. The second paper (with Ryan McCammon, Willard Rodgers and Halimah Hassan) is titled "Aging and Errors of Measurement in Surveys: The Case of Self-Reports of Health."
