A brief introduction of the speakers:

Duane F. Alwin received his Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin and is currently the McCourtney Professor of Sociology and Human Development at the Pennsylvania State University. His research interests include life-span development, political socialization, parental child rearing values, sex role beliefs, educational institutions, and religion. More recently he has begun work on health disparities using a life-span development perspective. For his complete CV, click here.

K.A.S. Wickrama received his Ph.D. from Iowa State University and is currently an Associate Professor of Human Development at Iowa State University. His research interests include examining the influence of socioeconomic status, family, race/ethnicity, and community on physical and mental health outcomes, immigrant health, international health and development, and advanced methods for social and behavioral research.

Jonna M. Kulikowich received her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from Texas A&M University and is currently an associate professor of education at the Pennsylvania State University. Her research interests include academic development in mathematics and statistics, applied statistics, and the measurement of variables in reading research. For additional information, click here.
