Jennifer Darragh, data archivist, attended the IASSIST Annual Conference in Madison, Wisconsin in May 2004.
Dr. Stephen Matthews, senior research associate, associate professor of geography, demography, and sociology, and director of the GIA Core, and Michelle Zeiders, GIS analyst/programmer, led a three-day workshop on Promoting GIS Applications in Tobacco Research at the University of Cape Town, South Africa, in June 2004. The workshop was sponsored by the Fogarty International Center of the National Institutes of Health, International Tobacco and Health Research and Capacity Building Program (Dr. Gary King, P.I.).
Tara Murray, Information Core director, attended the Association for Population/Family Planning Libraries and Information Centers-International (APLIC-I) Annual Conference in Boston in March 2004. Murray also attended the Special Libraries Association (SLA) Annual Conference in Nashville in June 2004 and began her term as president of the SLA Central Pennsylvania Chapter.
