Leila Rodriguez received an honorable mention from the Society for Economic Anthropology in its annual Schneider prize competitions for her paper, "Generations and Motivations: Russian and Other Former Soviet Immigrants in Costa Rica." The Schneider prize is awarded annually since 1989 to the best graduate paper in the area of economic anthropology.
