2005 National Symposium on Family Issues
The 13th annual National Symposium on Family Issues, entitled "Early Disparities in School Readiness: How Do Families Contribute to Successful and Unsuccessful Transitions into School?" was held October 13-14, 2005. Lead speakers were George Farkas, The Pennsylvania State University; Susan Landry, University of Texas Health Science Center Houston; Annette Lareau, University of Maryland; and Susan Campbell, University of Pittsburgh. Computer Core Participating Partner in WebLion
The PRI Computer Core has become a Participating Partner in the University's WebLion Project. WebLion is an open-source website content management system developed for use specifically for the Penn State Web environment. Jeanne Spicer, manager, Programming Services, will be working to develop tools and techniques for use by funded research project teams. The goal is to use the web as a workspace to facilitate communication and collaboration among faculty members who may be physically located at universities around the world.
