Jennifer Barber has been promoted to Associate Professor, Department of Sociology, and Research Associate Professor, Population Studies Center and Survey Research Center, Institute for Social Research, University of Michigan.
Stephanie Bohon is Associate Professor, Department of Sociology, University of Tennessee.
Jacinta Bronte-Tinkew was recently promoted to Program Area Director (Parenting and Family Dynamics) at Child Trends. Her research focuses on the effects of father involvement, marriage and food insecurity on child well-being.
Susan Brown is Associate Director of the Center for Family and Demographic Research, Bowling Green State University.
Teresa Cooney has completed a four-year term as department chair in Human Development and Family Studies at the University of Missouri-Columbia. She will be on leave from January through July, 2007, at the Netherlands Interdisciplinary Demographic Institute in The Hague, The Netherlands.
Parfait Eloundou has been promoted to Associate Professor, Cornell University, Department of Development Sociology.
Samantha Friedman is co-author with Emily Rosenbaum of The Housing Divide: How Generations of Immigrants Fare in New York's Housing Market, New York University Press, December, 2006.
Gyounghae Han has been appointed Dean of the College of Human Ecology, Seoul National University, Korea, 2006-2008; and is currently president of the Korean Association of Family Relations.
Sandra L. Hanson has been awarded a 3-year grant from the National Science Foundation focusing on "Gender, Race, and Science: Asian American Women as Model Minority?"
Darryl Holman is Associate Professor, University of Washington, Department of Anthropology.
Hayward Derrick Horton has been promoted to Professor of Sociology, SUNY-Albany, and is a recipient of SUNY-Albany's 2005/2006 Excellence in Academic Service Award.
Anna Madamba is Project Manager, Marketing Research, The Vanguard Group.
William J. (Jim) McAuley, Professor of Gerontology at George Mason University, will become Editor-in-Chief of The Gerontologist in January, 2007. In 2006, Dr. McAuley received the Clark Tibbitts Award from the Association for Gerontology in Higher Education for lifetime contributions to the field.
Azizur Molla is Assistant Professor, Mansfield University.
Marina Nicolaeva was recently appointed to the position of Dean of Graduate Studies (Decana de Postgrado) of Universidad Privada Boliviana, while simultaneously holding the position of Director of the Graduate School of Economics and Business Administration (Directora de la Escuela de Graduados en Economía y Administración - EGEA) of the same university.
Nimfa Ogena was Senior Visitor at the Vienna Institute of Demography, Austrian Academy of Sciences, May-June 2006, and Visiting Senior Research Fellow at the Asia Research Institute, National University of Singapore, August-October 2006. As of November, 2006 she is Associate Dean for Academic Affairs of the College of Social Sciences and Philosophy, University of the Philippines.

Manat Suwan has been elected president of the Geographical Association of Thailand for the term 2006-2009.
