2007 National Symposium on Family Issues
The fifteenth annual National Symposium on Family Issues, entitled "Work-Life Policies That Make a Real Difference for Individuals, Families, and Organizations," was held October 8-9, 2007. Lead speakers were Ellen Ernst Kossek, Michigan State University School of Labor & Industrial Relations; Erin Kelly, Department of Sociology, University of Minnesota; Phyllis Moen, Department of Sociology, University of Minnesota; Susan Lambert, School of Social Service Administration, University of Chicago; and Jennifer Glass, Department of Sociology, University of Iowa. 2007 De Jong Lecture in Social Demography
The second annual De Jong Lecture in Social Demography was held October 22, 2007. Alberto Palloni, Board of Trustees Professor in Sociology and faculty associate of the Institute for Policy Research, Northwestern University, was the featured speaker for this year's program, entitled "Social Class Health and Mortality Differentials: Are There Important Selection Effects?"
