Dr. George Farkas, professor of sociology, demography, and education, is the new director of the Statistics Core. Consulting members of the Statistics Core are Dr. David Abler, professor of agricultural, environmental and regional economics and demography; Dr. John Casterline, professor of sociology and demography; Dr. Glenn Firebaugh, Liberal Arts Research Professor of Sociology and Demography; Dr. Melissa Hardy, professor of human development and family studies and sociology and director, Gerontology Center; Dr. David R. Johnson, professor of sociology, human development and family studies and demography and director, Survey Research Center; Dr. Bruce Lindsay, Distinguished Professor of Statistics and Demography; and Dr. Robert Schoen, Hoffman Professor of Family Sociology and Demography.
Diane Mattern, accounting supervisor, and Sherry Yocum, Administrative Core director, attended the Society of Research Administrators 2005 Annual Meeting, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, October 15-19, 2005.
Tara Murray, Information Core Director, Jennifer Darragh, Data Archivist, and Kiet Bang, Library Assistant, presented "Library @ Your User: A Case Study Using New Technologies to Extend the Reach of the Library" at the APLIC-I 39th Annual Conference held in Los Angeles, March 27-29, 2006.
Tara Murray, Information Core Director, will serve as president of APLIC-I for 2006-2007.
