Parfait Eloundou-Enyegue and Anne Calves received the 2007 Joyce Caine Award from the Comparative and International Education Society for their paper, "Till Marriage Do Us Part: Education and Remittances from Married Women in Africa" (Comparative Education Research 50(1):1-20). This award recognizes a paper that makes a substantial contribution to research in education related to Africa or people of African descent.
Bridget Goosby is currently completing her second year as a National Institute of Mental Health Postdoctoral Fellow in Racial and Ethnic Health Disparities at the University of Michigan in the Institute for Social Research (ISR). In the fall of 2007, she will be starting a tenure track faculty position in Sociology and Ethnic Studies at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Ching Hua Ho is Assistant Professor at the West Campus of Arizona State University.
Michelle Inkley is Manager, Evaluation and Training, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Edward S. Shihadeh (Department of Sociology, Louisiana State University) has received a National Science Foundation grant for studying the effects of the explosive population growth of Baton Rouge following hurricane Katrina, and a Board of Regents grant for the Crime and Policy Evaluation Research Group (CAPER) he created. Dr. Shihadeh was also awarded the Undergraduate Teaching Award by LSU's Sociology Society.
Jason Smith is Assistant Professor of Sociology, University of Alabama-Huntsville.
