New Funding Available


The Center on Population, Gender and Social Inequality at the University of Maryland seeks proposals for research on the relationship between the initiation of sexual activity and gender inequalities in developing countries. Proposals should address the timing and/or social processes surrounding the initiation of sexual activity.

This program, funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, consists of two types of awards (1) graduate student research awards of up to $10,000; and (2) small research grants of up to $20,000. Proposals are due by February 15, 1996. Awards can be to institutions located in the U.S. or in a developing country.
