  • Research Analyst, responsible for conducting assigned parts of social science research projects under the general direction of more senior staff members. Assists in the development of research approach, in the design of data collection instruments and in the selection of statistical techniques. Collects data and applies basic methods of statistical analysis. Reports research findings in writing. Qualifications include the academic knowledge of a discipline that is generally associated with the attainment of the master's degree (usually with bachelor's in a related field) or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.

  • Research Analyst, with interest and experience in adolescent sexual and fertility behavior, knowledge of pregnancy prevention programs, program evaluation and policy desirable. May administer surveys/questionnaires and compile results. May collect, tabulate, and process data.

• The National Archive of Computerized Data on Aging, a project under the auscipcies of ICSPR, is seeking its next Resident Scientist, to begin a one-year term in the Summer of 1996. The selected person will be an established gerontologist who can devote 10-20% of his/her time to the project. The primary responsibility is to provide intellectual leadership to the nation's largest library of computer-readable data on aging. Remuneration is based on current salary. • The Department of Population Dynamics at the Johns Hopkins University School of Hygiene and Public Health invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level to start no later than July 1, 1996. The selected candidate will participate in interdisciplinary research, teaching, and service activities in the Department and work in close collaboration with its Center for Communication Programs.

  Qualifications for the position include a Ph.D. in communication, sociology, psychology, health education or a related field relevant to communication in population and reproductive health. Experience in design and/or evaluation of health communication interventions is essential. Individuals with experience in developing countries and with mass media are particularly encouraged to apply. Foreign language skills are desirable.

• The University of Chicago, Department of Sociology will have one or more tenure track positions open at the Assistant Professor level beginning Autumn, 1996. Areas of specialization are open but candidates trained in qualitative methods are of particular interest.
