1998 PAA AWARD WINNERS


The 1998 Annual Meeting of the PAA was held at the Hyatt Regency Chicago April 1 - 4. A total of 1,483 were registered for the meeting.

The Clifford C. Clogg Award was presented to Douglas S. Massey and Adrian E. Raftery in recognition of distinguished work in population statistics for innovative contributions to the design, collection, modeling, or analysis of population survey or census data.

Marin Clarkberg received the Dorothy S. Thomas Award in recognition of her paper entitled "The Price of Partnering: The Role of Economic Well-Being in Young Adults' First Union Experiences."

The Mindel C. Sheps Award was presented to Leslie Kish for outstanding contribution to Mathematical Demography or Demographic Methodology (also see A Profile of Leslie Kish).
