Maps and Links for Pennsylvania and North Carolina

Developed for the Family Life Project

The FLP home page is hosted by UNC. It includes an overall project desription as well as faculty participant information. Other FLP-related websites at UNC include a project abstract and a brief description of the FLP Ethnography component. Finally, Penn State also hosts a number of FLP websites.

The GIA Core at PRI has worked closely with FLP researchers, providing an array of supporting materials such as maps, datasets, posters, and slides for presentations, as well as contributing to the measurement of selected contextual variables. Different sections of this website link to maps we have created and to information and data resources relevant to the two states (Pennsylvania and North Carolina) and to the three counties in each state (Blair, Cambria, Huntingdon and Sampson, Wayne, Wilson, respectively) where the FLP is based.

Enjoy. We welcome comments and feedback.

NOTE: The GIA Core at PRI has produced many maps for the FLP. Many of them are available here; however, maps showing individual families are NOT included on this website. What we have made available here are (1) locator maps for each of the six FLP counties and (2) maps of 30+ census variables mapped at different census geographies (scale matters!).
