Contraceptive Availability in Nepal
The first map below shows the contraceptive prevalence rate (CPR) at the
district level in Nepal. The circles are proportional in size to the CPR.
This map was produced using PopMap (UN Statistical Division).
The second map displays multiple pieces of data on this same theme simultaneously.
That is the map displays the overall CPR and in addition information on
the six main contraceptive method used (condom, pill, depo provera, IUDs,
Norplant and sterilization) in Nepal. Each pie "slice" is drawn in proportion
to utilization rate of each contraceptive method. With the small circles
or pies it can be difficult to read off the detail.
The third map reveals the spatial variation in the contribution to the
CPR accounted for by each contraceptive method in each district. While
the actual CPR cannot be read off the map it is an easy map to read with
respect to the relative importance of each method.
