The Internet has helped disseminate data on an array of demographic,
economic, wellbeing and health-related variables. Reliable sources
are the US Bureau of the Census and an array of other Federal Agencies
(NIH, NCHS, NIJ, etc.). The following maps, extracted from the HUD software
Community 2020, shows the distribution of ethnic groups, neighborhood resources,
low income areas and households in poverty in the Boston area. Community
2020 provides numerous pieces of information related to child and welfare
services and an array of "neighborhood resources". It is available over
the Internet or can be purchased for use on a PC.
